Brian Sommers Waseca Obituary, Death – Brian Melville Sommers, aged 42, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at his residence in Wilkes Barre. Born on May 11, 1975, in East Stroudsburg, Brian was the beloved son of Brian Sommers (Vicky) of Bainbridge, NY, and Pearl (Edinger) Graeff (David Miller) of East Stroudsburg. Although he spent his earlier years in Monroe County, Brian had been a resident of Wilkes Barre for the past two years.
Brian was a dedicated employee, working for Chewy.com and Franks Pizza in Wilkes-Barre. His previous places of employment included Alfredo’s in Stroudsburg and Johnson & Johnson in Mt Pocono. Having been baptized in the Methodist church, Brian was a cherished son, father, brother, nephew, and uncle. Known for his larger-than-life personality, he had a contagious smile and laugh that endeared him to everyone.
Brian took great pride in being a father, loving his children deeply. Even from a young age, he displayed an interest in cooking, often found playing with his grandmother Marilyn’s pots and pans. This passion persisted throughout his life, and Brian became adept in the kitchen, always eager to prepare a delicious meal. His generosity knew no bounds, as he would readily help anyone in need, exemplifying his caring nature.
Brian found joy in simple pleasures, including playing Trouble and cards with his grandmother, indulging in his favorite music, and visiting the casino. A sports enthusiast, he ardently supported the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Eagles, and New England Patriots. Brian attended Stroudsburg High School and played football, proudly wearing the jersey with the number 74 during his time in Jr. High. His memory will be cherished by all who were touched by his warmth, kindness, and zest for life.
